With all competitors having one eye on the upcoming 24 Hours Of Eastern Creek Non Championship event, its easy to have forgotten that there is still another championship round to contest before hand.
With our advertised 'T.B.A Round' scheduled to take place on Saturday the 24th of August, the SEK Committee has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to secure a track to compete on. We are now proud to announce that the Sportsman Enduro Karting Championship will be making its return to the Wollongong Kart Raceway for 7 Hours of Wollongong. The event will consist of a one hour race, being for half points and will then be followed by the more traditional 6 hour race for full points.
Last years event at Wollongong was sadly cancelled in the lead up due to track management issues, which saw the entire track close down for a long period of time. New management has since taken over the operations and have been working closely with SEK officials to secure the appropriate track licensing to host the Sportsman Enduro Karting Championship once again.
There are only 14 Hours of racing left in the Championship, spread across Wollongong and Lithgow, and the Championship Battle is still wide open in both MAXX and Sportsman Classes. If our last round in Canberra is anything to go by, the racing will be intensely competitive and will prove to be something no team can afford to sit out if they are anywhere near championship contention.
